Starting to move...

Julia can push herself into crawling position now - it seems too soon! She can scoot quite a ways when she does this too. Of course she only goes backwards, but then she rolls and I never know where she will end up. These pictures also show how long her hair is getting, and how big her thighs are. Grant loves squeezing her thighs and will say "Julia, your things are so chubby!" Julia laughs, but hopefully he doesn't still say this to her when she's a teenager. I've heard how teenage Vardaman boys can act...

Grant's fever returned by noon so I gave him some Motrin, but now it's creeping back up. Luckily it hasn't been above 100/101 but I'm preparing for an interesting night. Poor boy, I hope it's nothing bad.

Ask and you shall receive

I guess all I had to do was tell Julia to sleep through the night, or maybe she liked that it was in writing. Anyway, she slept from 8pm last night until 5 this morning, ate and went back to sleep until 8:15. Unfortunately I was up with Grant at 1:30am as he has a small fever. Let's hope that doesn't turn into anything else. Oh, and Julia drank from a bottle this morning - FINALLY! I've been so bad at making her take a bottle which is bad for me because then I can never leave for long (like for a Girl's Night Out with the neighbors). I've been singing "Freedom" all morning :)

Easiest baby on the block

Today Grant and I took advantage of the 50 degree weather by writing all over the driveway. Sweet Julia was in the stroller, just watching. She barely fussed and I realized it was nearly nap time. So I told Grant we would have to go inside in 5 minutes. Next thing you know, I hear her sucking her thumb (her new way to put herself to sleep) and bam-o! She was asleep. Just like that! Luckily I was sitting down or I would have fainted - she is such an easy baby!! Don't you just want to kiss those sweet little cheeks?!?!?
Grant loves that Julia is getting so mobile - she can roll anywhere she wants now. So here they are the other day, rolling together. Oh - and Julia now eats rice cereal, banana and her favorite, avocado. Tomorrow I will introduce her to pears. Now if only she would start sleeping through the night, I would call her perfect!

Oh the clothes!

This is what Julia wore to church this morning. As you can imagine, between this outfit and her non-stop smile, she got lots of attention.
My cousin gave Grant a sandwich cutter from Japan - it makes it into a pocket and cuts off the crusts - so we have been having lots of sandwiches this week. This is what was left of PB&J.
Aunt Amy gave Julia some glitter jeans - how cool is that! Glitter in the jeans and it doesn't even come off on my hands. She looked so cute in this outfit, but had a blow-out before Blake got home from work to see her. Thank goodness I take pictures almost every day :)
I find that dressing Julia is much more fun now that she's awake more and moving all over the place. She has so many cute outfits - I need to get pictures when she wears them before she outgrows them all!

Bumbo

We have acquired a Bumbo chair and it's a big hit with Julia - and Grant. I didn't know if Julia's thighs would fit, but luckily her chub is all squishy so it just falls into place :)

Dumont trip

My cousin and her kids were visiting from Japan, so the kids and I went to see them at my grandma's. We had a great time, and Julia was a big hit. My cousin's little boy (3 years) wanted to keep Julia. He suggested "Lisa can get another baby". Too cute!

Julia's 4 month appt

Julia had her four month appointment today (it had been rescheduled twice) and is nice and healthy. She is 17 pounds, 8 ounces (94th percentile), and 26 inches long (88th percentile). She got 2 shots and barely cried. Grant prepared her - when she woke up this morning, he yelled, "Julia! You are going to get shots in your legs! You are going to cry!" Thank goodness she doesn't understand yet - she just smiled and smiled at him :)

Let's Go HAWKS!

The kids are wearing their Hawkeye garb for the big game. So far so good!

Sledding!

Blake and Grant went sledding with Steve and Josh at a big hill near my parents - they had a great time! He had so much fun with all the snow but now we are back in snow-less Omaha. I'm sure we'll get some snow eventually!

Christmas with the Noeltings

Here is a picture of the Noelting grandkids - but we forgot to get one with my parents! Here is sweet Julia...
And Todd, Darci and baby Ryan

Snow Man and Fort

My parents had some great snow while we were there, so Grant got to make a snow man and fort with Blake and my dad. He had a great time! I think my dad and Blake enjoyed themselves almost as much :) It was warm too, so the perfect weather to work in.
