Super Grant

Grant found his Superman costume the other day and insisted on wearing it to play outside today. Fine with me - I think half the neighborhood already thinks I'm nuts since I'm always chasing him around the yard/driveway. Grant has been asking to see my witch costume so maybe one of these days the neighbors will see a witch chasing Superman and wonder what the world has come to! Grant insisted I take this picture. Don't ask me why but he was very pleased with how it turned out.

Julia smiling, as always!

Julia's hair and cheeks

After months of wondering, we finally decided Julia looks like Blake. When they smile, the tops of their cheeeks make little points. And she has Blake's wonderful (at least I think they are wonderful - Blake disagrees!) curls. Oh how I hope they stay! I used to joke to Blake that the reason I married him was because he was such a cute baby and I wanted one that looked like him. Looks like I may have succeeded :) I was trying to get some pictures of Julia's face but ended up getting some good pictures of her hair.

Another crawling video

Here is another video of Julia crawling. I brought the ball popper up from the basement and she LOVES it!

Video of Grant

Here is a video of Grant from the other night being silly with the coins he got from preschool for St. Patty's.

7 months old

Julia turned 7 months old yesterday - here are some pictures of our big girl. She also cut her second bottom tooth. I know that is a good thing, but I will really miss her gummy smile once I can see the teeth when she smiles. She's done great with teething so far, let's hope that continues! Also some pics of Grant - we made strawberry banana smoothies yesterday.

More fun in the sun

We had another beautiful day, which meant a jog to the park so Grant could play. Here are some pictures of Julia looking cute and Grant playing. He likes to use his sidewalk chalk to color the wheels. Also, he runs along the pond on our way home. I think someday I may have a running partner! (He is doing his "run pose" in the picture. What a goof.)

We have a crawler

Julia has been scooting for over a month, but she finally figured out to move one knee, then the other, then the other. She's very fast too! She gets a little distracted whenever I get out the camera, but here is a taste.
It is beautiful today! Almost 80 degrees - not bad for March. Here are a few pics of the kids from this morning.
Grant wanted to get in Julia's crib with her when she woke from her nap this morning. Julia thought that was the funniest thing she had seen in a while (she laughs at everything G does).
I think Julia is working on her second bottom tooth. She is like a little puppy, chewing on everything. Lately this is her favorite teething toy (I swear I offer her at least 5 other toys per day but she loves this step stool!).
Julia watching G blow bubbles.

Grant posed for this picture, then immediately had to see how it turned out :)

Denver trip

Last weekend, Julia and I went to Denver so she could meet Taffy and Mitch and the kids. We also got to see Susan and the kids (and Jack briefly). Julia did great on her first airplane ride - she made friends with everyone and got passed around a little. She LOVED the Clarks, but who doesn't? When we got home, I realized Julia had a tooth - I didn't even know she was teething! What an easy baby!! Ashlynn, Cassidy, Alexis and Julia

The Greatest Show on Earth

We took the kids to the circus today - Grant loved it! He loved all the acts we saw, and also the entertainment outside of the ring. There was an area where you could visit the elephants and the camels, as well as lots of ways to spend your money. Such as riding a camel, which of course we did. There were also some little rides. Julia was a champ - the show started at 1 pm and she fell asleep just as we pulled in the parking garage. But we couldn't bring the baby carrier with us, so we had to carry her and the 12 degree weather, for some reason, woke her up! So she didn't get a nap this afternoon and wasn't even fussy (she had a good nap this morning). What a great baby, but I'm wondering what that will mean for tonight. Oh well, it was worth it (I think - check back in the morning :)
Grant riding the camel - for $7 they do 2 whole laps :)
Of course we had to buy cotton candy! Grant liked it but didn't eat too much.
One very tired girl who didn't want to miss a thing!
Face painting. We probably have the only child who picked a mushroom. I think he's getting excited for mushroom hunting - only another 2 months or so!
Grant LOVED this spinny ride. This poor girl did too, at first. Grant kept spinning and spinning and by the end I thought she was going to throw up. We asked Grant to slow down, so he would only spin it with 2 fingers for a while and have such a sweet look on his face, then he was back at full speed with a look of shock on his face. Almost like he had no idea how he was going so fast again :) He must get his like of spinny rides from Blake - I could hardly even watch him.
